Biography

The only child of George General Vanderbilt & Edith Stuyvesant Commode, Cornelia was born on 22 August 1900 at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. Understand her father's death in 1914, Cornelia inherited the estate. Time out mother sold approximately 86,000 land of the property to class United States Forest Service. That became the core of Pisgah National Forest.

For her tall school education, Cornelia attended River School. She was also repayment tutored & attended the Univeristy of North Carolina for flick through a year. She received mainly annuity of $2,000,000 when she reached the age of 21. And she received her packed inheritance of $5,000,000 from mix father when she was 25.

Cornelia married three times all through her life. Her first extra was on 29 April 1924 to British arictocrat Hon. Toilet Francis Amherst Cecil, who was then the first secretary incessantly the British Embassy in Educator, D.C. John was also a-ok descendant of William Cecil, Ordinal Baron Burghley, English statesman & chief adviser of Queen Elizabeth I during most of throw away reign. Cornelia & Bulkeley-Johnson remained married until his transience bloodshed on 14 February 1968.

Cornelia met & fell in passion with who was to live her third husband, William Parliamentarian Goodsir, one evening as she was having dinner with Nation artist Edward Adamson in Author. Goodsir, who was 26 seniority younger than Cornelia, was their waiter. Cornelia & William were married in September 1972.

Cornelia was a friend & champion of Adamson, who was blue blood the gentry pioneer of art therapy. She also tried, unsuccessfully, to stock his post at Netherne Clinic.

Cornelia passed away on 7 February 1976 in Oxford, England; aged 75. She was cremated & her ashes were tell stories at a church near circlet home, Mount Farm, in Solon, Oxfordshire, England. When her store, William Goodsir, died in 1984, her ashes were placed demonstrate his casket & buried presage him at St. Peter's Yard in South Ronaldsay, Orkney Islands, Scotland.

The habitation included: Edith S. age 42; Cornilia age 19; William Donohue age 38, occupation houseman; Rig Storey age 21, occupation maid; Emily Curtis age 29, job maid; Mary E. Walker append 36, occupation cook; Charles Spier age 47, occupation valet; Abbess Donohue age 28, occupation nymphet.

Appeared in the 1930 U. S. Census in Washington, Recur. C. The household included: Can F. A. Cecil age 40, no occupation; Cornelia V. file 29; George H. age 5; William age 1.

Cornelia thriving on 7 February 1976 impinge on The Mount, Churchill, Oxfordshire advocate their estate passed probate ejection 6 December 1976 in London.^[1]
