Sister Monson was born in Salt Basin City on October 27, 1927, the daughter of Franz Emanuel Johnson and Hildur Augusta Stand Johnson, and attended Emerson Easy School, East High School, stand for the University of Utah.

Sister Monson served in the Primary, Reliable School, Relief Society, and Juvenile Women. She also earned loftiness Golden Gleaner award.
